TAX AND ACCOUNTING

Trax & Rounded. A perfect pair.

Rounded is the accounting app built for Australian sole traders. Invoices, expenses, BAS and EOFY tax - all in one place. Every kilometre in Trax flows directly into Rounded, so your tax deduction updates as you drive.

Both ATO methods.
Maximum deductions

Trax supports both the Logbook method and Cents per Kilometre. Not sure which? No worries - you can see which nets you the higher deduction at tax time.

Ready for your accountant

No more hand-scribbled logbooks. Export your logbook or full trip history as a clean PDF or spreadsheet.

Questions
and Answers

App features

Do I need to leave the app open while driving?

No. Trax is designed to be set and forget. With correct device permissions and automatic tracking enabled, Trax runs in the background and automatically detects when you're driving. So you can use your phone for navigation, music, or calls without interrupting your logbook.

Can Trax automatically classify trips?

Yes. Trax can automatically classify trips as business or personal.

Can I manually start and stop tracking?

Yes. Automatic tracking is entirely optional. You can manually start and stop tracking at any time.

Can I manually add past trips?

Yes. You can manually add past trips by entering the date, time, distance and start and end addresses. This is useful for capturing any trips before downloading Trax, or if you forgot to start tracking.

Can I save addresses that I visit frequently?

Yes. Save your home, work and other frequently visited addresses. Trips starting or ending at a saved address will display the short name you’ve assigned (e.g. “Home” or “Office”) instead of the full address, making it easier to scan your logbook.

Are multiple vehicles supported?

Yes. You can add and manage multiple vehicles in Trax, each with their own logbook. Vehicles can be manually assigned after the trip is complete or before tracking starts.

Can I track personal trips?

Yes. You can track personal trips separately from business trips. Simply mark a trip as personal when reviewing it, and it will be excluded from your business logbook. However, Trax is primarily designed for tracking business trips for tax deduction purposes.

Subscription and billing

How much does Trax cost?

The first 20 trips are free. After that, a $9 monthly subscription is required.

Is there a discount for Rounded customers?

Yes. If you have an active Rounded subscription, you can get Trax for $5 per month. To redeem, simply connect your Rounded and Trax accounts via the Rounded Vehicle Deductions page.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The first 20 trips are free. This allows you to experience the full functionality of the app before committing to a subscription. Rounded customers who connect their accounts during the trial period will receive an additional 30 free trips, for a total of 50 free trips.

What payment methods are accepted?

Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device. Both platforms accept a variety of payment methods, including credit/debit cards and PayPal.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If you miss a payment, your subscription will be paused, and you will not be able to track new trips until the payment is made. However, your existing trip data will remain intact.

Exporting data

Can I export my trip data?

Yes. You can export all your trip data to CSV or PDF, perfect for sharing with your accountant or for your own records.

What information is included in the export?

The export includes all trip details such as date, time, distance, start and end locations, the vehicle used, and whether the trip was classified as business or personal.

Can I export an ATO-compliant logbook?

Yes. You can export your logbook in an ATO-compliant, formatted PDF or CSV, which includes all the details suitable for tax deduction purposes.

Security

Is my data secure?

Yes. Trax takes data security seriously. All trip data is stored on-device and securely synced to an Australian AWS region with end-to-end encryption.
